Started in October 2009, the aim of CanSurvive Cancer Support is to provide support for cancer patients, caregivers and friends at various levels – no matter what type of cancer they are affected by and no matter where they receive their treatment. Patients, survivors, caregivers and friends are welcome at our monthly group meetings.

Meetings are held at Hazeldene Hall, Parktown and on the East Rand. The excellent speakers also serve to further cancer buddy training and provide buddies with a place to meet patients.

There are also two groups at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Contact us for more details.

On the East Rand we have support groups in Tsakane, Wattville, KwaThema and Daveyton as well as a representative present at the Far East Rand Hospital twice a week.

Members of CanSurvive also attend wellness days, sports events and give talks to various organisations as requested.

We are not afraid to talk about cancer!
